Cough

Cough is an American doom metal band from Richmond, Virginia, active since 2005. The group is described as stoner, sludge and doom metal, and its early sound draws on doom metal from different eras, sludge metal and early black metal such as Bathory.

Line-up and vocal approach

The band begins as a quartet with Chris Kirby on vocals. After Kirby leaves in 2008, core members David Cisco and Parker Chandler take over vocal duties, each using a different vocal style. The listed members are Parker Chandler on vocals and bass, David Cisco on vocals and guitar, Brandon Marcey on guitar, and Joey Arcaro on drums.

Releases and label work

Cough releases its debut album in 2008. It later signs to Relapse and puts out two albums on the label: Ritual Abuse in 2010 and Still They Pray in 2016. In total, the band has released three albums along with other material.
