Cosmosophy is a psychedelic trance and downtempo project from Switzerland formed by Pearce van der Merwe and Daniel Symons. Van der Merwe also records as Flooting Grooves, while Symons uses the name Dymons. Both artists are members of The Peaking Goddess Collective.

Background

Cosmosophy grows out of years of collaboration between flutist Pearce van der Merwe and percussionist and multi-instrumentalist Daniel Symons, who work together in a range of projects before creating the duo. Their music develops from the same wider scene that includes their solo work and their band activity with The Peaking Goddess Collective.

Related projects and releases

Before forming Cosmosophy, van der Merwe releases the solo album Flooting Grooves--Upsyde Downe, Symons releases Dymons-Druids Brew, and The Peaking Goddess Collective releases Organika, a band album produced with Ajja, Master Margherita, DJ Gaspard, and Tanya, the founders of Peak Records. After touring with their live acts, they return to the studio and begin work on new material for Cosmosophy.

Sound and performance

The project presents a live set designed to work in different settings, including a main stage, an afternoon dancefloor, an alternative stage, and a chillout area. Their music is issued through Elestial Records and distributed by Arabesque Distribution in the UK.
