Cosmo Jarvis is the stage name of Harrison Cosmo Krikoryan Jarvis, an English singer-songwriter and filmmaker from Ridgewood, United Kingdom. Born in 1989, he moves to Devon, UK as a young child.

Music

Jarvis is a multi-instrumentalist and uses that approach in his recordings, playing instruments including ukulele and recorder. His songs vary widely in style across an album, and his work is hard to place in a single genre. The lyrics cover subjects including homosexuality and alienation from religion.

He releases a self-titled debut album in 2009, after leaving school at 16. The album contains 21 tracks, and the single “She’s Got You” receives airplay on BBC Radio 1. He follows it with the albums Is the World Strange or Am I Strange? in 2011 and Think Bigger in 2012, then the four-track EP They Don’t Build Hearts Like They Used To.

Live performance

Jarvis performs with a variable band. The live line-up is usually a trio, with Jarvis on guitar, Harry Mackaill on bass guitar, and Harry Meads and/or his brother Fletcher Jarvis on drums and percussion.

Other work

He writes songs for other artists, including “Waiting on the Hill” for Mad Dog McRea. He also writes and produces short films, with work shown at SXSW and The Naughty Room broadcast on British television.
