Cory Wong
Cory Wong is an American guitarist, bassist, songwriter, podcast host and producer from Poughkeepsie and Minneapolis. Born in 1985, he is based in Minneapolis, Minnesota and is known as a rhythm guitarist working across funk, jazz, R&B and smooth jazz.
Career
Wong releases music as a solo artist and in collaborations with other musicians. His work spans jazz, rock and funk, and he is a Grammy-nominated artist. He performs with Vulfpeck, Dave Koz, Stay Human, The Fearless Flyers, Ben Rector, Dr. Mambo's Combo, Chris Thile and Dirty Loops.
Selected releases and projects
His discography includes several releases issued in 2020, among them Live in Amsterdam, recorded with the Metropole Orkest, and Meditations, a new-age album with Jon Batiste. He also releases two albums connected with his variety show.
Collaborative work
The Fearless Flyers are one of his regular group projects. His other collaborations place him in settings that range from funk and jazz to smooth jazz and other ensemble work.
