Contrast

Contrast is an electro-industrial group from the Netherlands. It forms in Amsterdam in 2003 and is active from 2003 to the present. The group consists of Sharon Feigal, Rene Jongeneelen and Patrick van Alphen.

Style and background

The band’s music is described as a mix of dark electro, dark wave, gothic and industrial elements. It is also identified as an electro-industrial and EBM act.

Releases and activity

In December 2003, Contrast completes a first demo MCD titled The Devastation Files. The song “Follow the Leaders” from that release appears on the compilation DeCODEr, put out by Suicide Commando, and on 10 years DJ -X-X-X. In November 2005, the band releases another demo, Preparations.

In 2009, Contrast releases its debut album Antidote on Triple Handshake Records, in cooperation with Pandaimonium Records and Nova Media Distribution. In the same period, the group also records a remix of Clan of Xymox’s “Emily”.
