Commix

Commix is a drum and bass project from Cambridge, England. It is made up of Guy Brewer and George Levings, and is also associated with The Cambridge Four collective, alongside Logistics, Nu:Tone and Saikon. The group has been active since 2002.

Style and releases

Commix’s music is generally described as having a light, eerie and experimental character, and it is associated with drum and bass and liquid funk. Tracks from the Call To Mind album are presented with the “Progressive Electronic” sub-genre tag to reflect that sound.

Labels and collaborations

The group has tracks signed to Goldie’s Metalheadz label and to Hospital Records. It also contributes to NHS74: The Future Sound of Cambridge, a release on Hospital Records by The Cambridge Four. A second edition of that EP is also mentioned under the title NHS106: The Future Sound Of Cambridge2.
