Comfort is credited in several different line-ups and styles, and the name is used by more than one act. One version is a project started in 2000 by Alessandro Baris, Leonardo Chirulli and Fabio Elia. Another is a four-piece pop-punk band from Columbus and Bloomington, Indiana. A further Comfort is described as an active post-rock and shoegaze band from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, with five members.

Releases and activity

The project formed by Baris, Chirulli and Elia appears on several compilations before issuing its first full-length album, Eclipse, in 2006 on Psychotica Records and Goodfellas. Roger Seibel is involved in the mastering. In 2007 the group composes a new soundtrack for the film Un chien andalou, which is awarded at the Moviemento festival. The next record, Sleep Talking Shared, is issued in 2009 on the Belgian label OFF.

Style and collaborators

This Comfort project is described as moving between rock, electronics and ambient material, and its live set combines those elements with real-time visuals. The Vancouver band is described as drawing on post-rock, shoegaze, post-hardcore and skramz, and writes calm, melancholic instrumentals. Its first EP is released in 2015.
