Comethazine is the stage name of Frankie Jahmier Childress, a rapper from St. Louis, United States. Born in 1998, he also represents Illinois in his music identity.

Background

He takes his name from a combination of his high school nickname, “Cocaine,” and the drug promethazine. He says the earlier nickname comes from his light skin compared with that of his friends.

Career

Comethazine begins rapping in his basement a few years before the release of his EP Aloe Vera. The EP appears in 2016 and helps bring him wider attention. He then gains traction with the tracks “Run It” and “Hella Choppers”. He is signed to Todd Moscowitz’s Alamo Records.
