Collisions

Collisions is a UK rock band that begins to attract attention in 2011, although the group is active in rehearsals and stage-show development from the late summer of 2010. Its sound combines fast synthesiser parts with heavy rock riffs, and the band develops a high-energy live performance to match. Members have previous experience in Brighton-based bands Son of Robot and Three Mile Island, while others have worked on projects with former members of Gutworm and Defenestration from Northampton.

The group’s music is broadcast on Brighton’s Radio Reverb and on the international internet station GenerationWhy.tv. A comment from M.D. Clayden of Pitchshifter and This Is Menace describes the band as fast, heavy and in your face, and the act is presented as one to watch.

Another act using the same name is a separate group that starts as Braille, with Anthony R and Greg B, and later adds Anthony P on keyboards and Richie A on guitar before adopting the name Collisions. That version of the band works with a more instrumental and experimental approach, draws on the Beatles, Joy Division, Animal Collective and the French Kicks, and releases an album called Villain’s Spirit. A further Collisions is a now-defunct screamo band from Wooloowin, Queensland, Australia. Another line-up under the name includes Tom Hodge, Ollie Howell and Ciaran Morahan, and releases a self-titled album in September 2022.
