Coitus

Coitus is a punk and crust group that forms in north London in 1989, emerging from the squatter and punk scene. The band goes through several line-up changes before settling on a stable three-piece of Alien on drums and vocals, Mik on guitar and vocals, and Skinny on bass and vocals. Other musicians passing through the group include Pet “Lippy” Lyons, formerly of Antisect, Martin Ryan, later of Screamer, and Pato Duffy.

The group tours across the UK, Ireland and mainland Europe and issues several records during its active years. Skinny leaves in 1995 and Keith from Dread Messiah takes over on bass. Coitus splits in 1996.

Former members later play in groups including The Restarts, Screamer and Coldwar. The band also reforms sporadically from 2000 onwards. A separate electro-industrial act also uses the name Coitus.
