Codex Leicester

Codex Leicester is a Leicester-based group active from 2010 to 2013. The band forms in 2010 and takes its name from Leonardo da Vinci’s scientific notebooks, with the title also referring to its shared base.

The group describes itself as a band of brothers from different parts of Great Britain. Its music is characterised as tightly wound post-hardcore guitar-driven material with an art-metal element.

Codex Leicester gains support from a number of radio presenters and specialist programmes, including John Kennedy on XFM, Adam Walton on BBC Radio Wales, Jon Hillcock on New Noise, Dean Jackson on BBC Introducing, and Rory McConnell on BBC Radio One in Northern Ireland. The band also features on the Big Scary Monsters 2011 collection.
