Climbers

Climbers is a house duo from Mexicali, Mexico, made up of Jay Blakk and Kiko Deal. Blakk and Deal have been friends since high school, and they start making music together after coming from different musical backgrounds.

Releases and remixes

The duo’s debut release is the Law Of Attraction EP on Culprit. They also make remixes for labels including Lower East, Noir Music 2 and Electronique. Their track “All Right”, from the Culprit EP, receives play on BBC Radio’s Pete Tong show.

Style and recognition

Climbers develop a sound built around classic house percussion, emphatic electronic basslines, old-school vocal samples and atmospheric synth pads. Their music circulates among underground dance acts including Art Department, James Teej, My Favorite Robot, Tanner Ross, Miguel Campbell, Catz n Dogz, Death on the Balcony and Richy Ahmed.

Other work

Jay Blakk is also the co-founder of Mexa Records with Louie Fresco. Climbers also plan further releases for Culprit and an EP on Nervous Records’ Nurvous imprint, and they undertake a debut European tour.
