Cleopatrick

Cleopatrick is a duo associated with Canadian heavy alt-rock and garage rock. The group comes from Cobourg, Ontario and is made up of childhood friends Ian Fraser and Luke Gruntz, who know each other from the age of four. They begin playing music in their teens after first developing an interest in it at around age eight, when they first listen to AC/DC.

Recordings and releases

The band runs its own label, Nowhere Special Recordings. Its debut EP, titled 14, is released in 2016. It gains wider attention through the single “Hometown”, which appears in 2017 and reaches No. 6 on the US Mainstream Rock chart. That track comes from the second EP, The Boys, released in 2018. A non-album single, “Sanjake”, follows in 2019.

Album era

Cleopatrick’s debut album, Bummer, arrives in 2021. It is introduced by the singles “Good Grief”, “The Drake” and “Family Van”.

Live activity

The band’s first festival appearance is at Lollapalooza in Chicago in 2018. It also plays festivals in 2019 including 2000 Trees Festival in England and Shaky Knees Music Festival in Atlanta.
