Claro Intelecto

Claro Intelecto is the production alias of Mark Stewart, a UK electronic artist associated with techno, house, IDM and dub techno. He first appears under this name in early 2003 with the 12-inch Peace of Mind, which becomes an often discussed club debut and is repressed repeatedly.

Career and style

Stewart’s productions are described as club-focused and shaped by warehouse-era dance music. His work draws on the sounds of Manchester clubs including the Hacienda, Home and Paradise Factory, linking his output to the city’s club culture.

Labels and releases

In 2005, Claro Intelecto becomes a member of the Modern Love label family. His Warehouse Sessions series brings particular recognition, with the third volume reaching the No. 1 position in Berlin’s Groove magazine. His album Metanarrative is released in October 2007.
