Cian Ciaran is a Welsh musician from Bangor, born in 1976. He is best known as the keyboard player in Super Furry Animals, and he also plays guitar and drums, sings, and works as a songwriter, composer and producer.

Career

Before Super Furry Animals form, Ciaran plays in the electronica group WWZZ. He also belongs to the techno collective Acid Casuals, and records and produces under the names Paps, Kirkland and his own name.

He works as a guest, producer and mixer with a range of other acts, including Kaiser Chiefs, Mogwai and Manic Street Preachers. He also sings lead vocals on Super Furry Animals tracks including “Walk You Home”, “Cabin Fever”, “Carbon Dating”, “Mt.” and “Pric.”

Solo releases

His first solo single, “Martina Franca”, appears in 2012. That same year he releases his solo album Outside In on Strangetown Records. His second solo album, They Are Nothing Without Us, follows in 2013.
