Chron Gen

Chron Gen are a British punk band from Hitchin, United Kingdom, active from 1978 to the present. The group forms in January 1978 from former members of The Condemned and Optional Xtras. Their core line-up includes Glynn Barber on vocals and guitar, Jon Johnson on drums, Jon Thurlow on rhythm guitar and Pete Dimmock on bass, with later members including B.B. Floyd and Roy Horner. Fraser Britten is also listed among the band’s members.

Early releases and punk scene links

The band’s debut EP is Puppets of War. That release also appears in single versions of Lies, Chronic Generation and Mindless Few. The success of the EP leads to an invitation to join the Apocalypse tour in the UK in 1981, alongside The Exploited, Discharge, Anti-Pasti and The Anti-Nowhere League.

Later history

Floyd, one of the later members of the group, dies on 31 October 1999. Pete Dimmock also dies, on 12 August 2011.
