Christopher Cross is a singer-songwriter and guitarist from San Antonio, United States. Born Christopher Charles Geppert in 1951, he works in soft rock, pop, rock, ballad and AOR, and is also associated with yacht rock. He is an American singer-songwriter and is linked with Christopher Cross Records.

Career

Cross gains wide recognition with his self-titled debut album, which appears in 1979 and wins five Grammy Awards. His recording career includes songs that reach the top of the US Billboard Hot 100, including “Sailing” and “Arthur’s Theme (Best That You Can Do)”. “Sailing” wins three Grammy Awards in 1980. “Arthur’s Theme,” which appears in the 1981 film Arthur, receives the Academy Award for Best Original Song in 1982 and is co-written with Burt Bacharach, Carole Bayer Sager and Peter Allen.
