Christina Novelli
Christina Novelli is a vocalist and songwriter from Southampton, United Kingdom, associated with vocal trance. Born in 1985, she also works in pop rock and has been based in London. She is a member of CARTEL.
Background and performance
Novelli grows up wanting to sing and draws early influence from Motown, Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Tina Turner and Lauryn Hill. Her later influences include Paramore, Pink, Biffy Clyro and Dashboard Confessional. She tours widely in the UK and performs in stripped-back acoustic settings as well as with a full band. She also plays guitar, and is left-handed, playing a right-handed guitar upside down.
Songwriting and recordings
She writes and co-writes her own songs, with the exceptions of Runaway and Bulletproof. Her CD Lost Without You is released in 2010. In 2013 she collaborates with Gareth Emery on Concrete Angel, a track that helps bring her wider attention.
Live work and appearances
Novelli performs at venues in London including Barfly Camden, KoKo Camden and The Proud Galleries. She also sings at venues in the United States such as Whiskey a Go Go in Hollywood and the House of Blues in California. Festival appearances include the Midlands Music Festival, where she supports The Sugababes, Lemar, Blue and Atomic Kitten, and Whitehaven Music Festival, where she supports Belinda Carlisle.
Media appearances
She appears on All Star Family Fortunes and takes part in the production of the US Bravo reality series Chef Academy. She also appears in newspapers including the Telegraph, Real Life and the Mail, and takes part in a photo shoot for Hello.
