Chris Ricketts and Mark Willshire are a folk duo formed in summer 2009. Chris Ricketts is a singer-songwriter from Portsmouth who studies folk and traditional music at Newcastle University. He has been active on the live circuit since around the age of 15 and is a semi-finalist in the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award of 2008.

The partnership pairs Ricketts’ traditional guitar and vocal style with Mark Willshire’s bass playing. Their arrangements are described as combining folk structures with bass lines that have a strong, almost funk-like feel.
