Chris Metcalfe

Chris Metcalfe is a British trance DJ and producer from Yarm. He works in EDM, electronic music and trance, with a particular association with uplifting and pure trance.

Career

Metcalfe begins releasing music in 2009, when he is signed to Armada Music, the dance label associated with Armin van Buuren. His early tracks gain support from a range of established DJs, and his name starts to circulate in the trance scene through both productions and remixes.

Among the tracks mentioned are “First Encounter” and “Outback”, both of which receive substantial support from other DJs. His first two productions also feature on Armin van Buuren’s A State of Trance and Paul van Dyk’s VONYC Sessions.

Support and recognition

Metcalfe’s work is regularly played by figures including Armin van Buuren, Paul van Dyk, John O’Callaghan, Eddie Halliwell and Ferry Corsten. He is also tipped by BBC Radio 1 as a potential breakthrough act. A quote attributed to John O’Callaghan describes him as combining strong DJ skills with studio ability.
