Chris Clark
Chris Clark is the name of two different recording artists. One is a soul singer from Santa Cruz, United States, born in 1946, associated with the Motown era and Northern soul audiences. The other is an English electronic musician working in IDM, electronica and experimental music, known for recording on Warp Records under the name Clark.
Motown soul singer
The first Chris Clark is a 1960s white Motown soul singer, sometimes described as a blue-eyed soul diva. She remains remembered by Motown and Northern soul fans. Her best-known single is “Love’s Gone Bad”, written by Holland-Dozier-Holland, which reaches the Billboard R&B charts in 1966.
Electronic artist
The second Chris Clark is an English electronic and IDM artist signed to Warp Records. With the release of Throttle Furniture, he changes his artist name to Clark.
