Cholombian

Cholombian is a group that makes instrumental, electronic and hip hop-influenced music built from cinematic soundscapes and warm, contemplative textures. Its sound draws on a wide range of influences, including progressive black metal, the film and composing style of Danny Elfman, and the work of Aaliyah, TLC and Ciara.

The act builds a profile through radio support on BBC Radio 1 from B. Traits, Gilles Peterson and Rob Da Bank. Rob Da Bank also signs Cholombian to his Silver Bear Recordings label imprint.

Cholombian’s EP Heart In The Right Place sells out within three days. The group also remixes alt-J’s “Bloodflood”, a track by the Mercury Prize-winning band, and the remix gains 25,000 plays in under a week online.

In 2013, Cholombian performs on the main stage at Bestival, opening for The Roots. The group also has further festival dates and a tour in preparation.
