Chloe Moriondo

Chloe Moriondo is an American singer-songwriter and YouTuber from Detroit, Michigan. She uses she/they pronouns and is associated with alternative pop, bedroom pop, electropop, hyperpop and indie pop, with a sound that also draws on indie, folk and pop.

Early career and YouTube

Moriondo begins her music career on YouTube, where she starts posting cover versions and later uploads her first original song, Waves. Her channel launches in January 2014 and grows to more than 3 million subscribers and over 200 million video views. Her early uploads attract a wide audience, and she later collaborates and tours with Cavetown.

Albums, EPs and label work

Moriondo self-releases her first studio album, Rabbit Hearted., in 2018. She follows it with the EP Spirit Orb in 2020, which marks a shift from ukulele-led acoustic songwriting towards a more electric guitar-driven sound. In August 2020, she signs to Fueled by Ramen and releases I Want to Be with You.

Her first studio album for the label, Blood Bunny, arrives in 2021 and includes singles such as I Want to Be with You and GIRL ON TV. The album moves further into pop-punk and includes songs that reference her favourite bands as well as cannibalism. In July 2021, she issues blood bunny (acoustic), a set of reworked album tracks produced by Cavetown.

In 2022, Moriondo releases the EP puppy luv and then Blood Bunny (Deluxe), which adds Hell Hounds and I Eat Boys featuring dodie. Later that year she releases SUCKERPUNCH, which extends her work into hyperpop after the indie pop of Blood Bunny.

Live performances

Moriondo makes her late-night television debut performing Bodybag on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in 2021. She also performs a version of I Want to Be with You on The Late Late Show with James Corden. In 2022, she joins mxmtoon on the North America tour rising (the world tour) and also plays shows in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and mainland Europe.
