Chipmunk is the stage name of Jahmaal Fyffe, a British hip hop and R&B artist and songwriter from Tottenham, London. He signs with Columbia Records through Sony Music UK.

Career

Chipmunk wins Best UK Newcomer at the MOBO Awards in 2008 and Best Hip-Hop Act at the MOBO Awards in 2009. He breaks through with Chip Diddy Chip, which peaks at number 21 on the UK Singles Chart, and follows it with Diamond Rings, featuring Emeli Sandé, which reaches number 6 and becomes his first top 10 hit.

His single Oopsy Daisy, featuring Dayo Olatunji, reaches number 1 in the UK and becomes his first chart topper. He also records Look for Me with Talay Riley, which peaks at number 7, and later releases Until You Were Gone with Esmée Denters, which debuts at number 3. He performs with JLS at a number of their concerts during their tour in early 2010.

Albums

Chipmunk releases his debut album, I Am Chipmunk, in 2009. It debuts at number 2 on the UK Albums Chart and sells platinum, passing 300,000 copies. The album produces four top 25 singles, including three consecutive top 10 hits and one number 1 single. A platinum edition follows with four additional songs, including Until You Were Gone. His next album, Transition, is scheduled for release in mid-2011.
