Chinese Man is a French hip-hop collective from Aix-en-Provence, active since 2004 and signed to Chinese Man Records. The group’s membership includes Jonathan Busson, High Ku, Sylvain Langlet, Zé Mateo, Sly Dee and Matthieu di Stefano.
Its music sits within abstract hip hop, hip hop and ragga hip-hop, with influences from funk, dub, reggae and jazz. The collective is also associated with turntablism and electronic music.
Chinese Man is particularly known for “I’ve Got That Tune”, a track that is used in an advertisement for a German automobile company and also serves as the theme song for a French film festival in Hong Kong. Chinese Man Records is based in Aix-en-Provence.
