Chill

Chill is the name of at least three separate acts, including a Finnish metal band, an American R&B group from the 1980s, and a UK hardcore/bassline producer from Japan.

Finnish metal band

Chill is a Finnish metal group from Finland. The band is described as a Finnish grunge metal act, with a sound that blends grunge-driven rock and heavy metal. Its lineup includes Jouni Rantanen on vocals, Eero Koivu and Miska Rautiainen on guitars, Mika Rautiainen on drums, and Helend Jantsikene on bass and vocals.

American R&B group

Another Chill is an American R&B group active in the 1980s. The lead singer is Michael Ian Ellis. The group releases the single “Lady Seduction” in 1985, followed by “Think About It”, which does not chart. In 1986 it issues the debut album Chill Out on Street Records, along with the single “911”, which also fails to enter the Billboard charts. A second album, Cold Fresh Groove, appears in 1989 on Orpheus Records. Its title track reaches number 35 on Billboard’s Hot Black Singles chart and remains there for 12 weeks, while “Body Reaction” peaks at number 66 and stays for 8 weeks. The album’s final single, “Hangin’ On”, does not chart.
