Checkmate

Checkmate is an independent metal group. It is also described as an alternative and nu metal band from Tel Aviv, Israel, and is tagged with alternative metal, metalcore, downtempo, trip-hop and nu metal.

Line-up

The group consists of Yan Braslavskiy on vocals, Kiril Khershberg on drums, Anton Skorohodov on bass and Vadim Raitses on guitar. Daniel Sherman is a former guitarist.

Releases and activity

The group is created in 2010. Its debut album is Separate, released in 2012. Its first album is also given as Immanence.

Touring

In 2012, the band tours in France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Hungary and Spain, and also plays on the American East Coast, including New York, Philadelphia and Boston.

There are several other artists and groups called Checkmate, including a South Korean co-ed group, a punk band from Caen in France, a melodic punk band from Minneapolis, a Christian ska and emo band, and a rapper from Vancouver.
