Chasing Violets

Chasing Violets is a French AOR and melodic rock group from Paris, active since 2011. The band centres on sisters Sarah and Mélissa Fontaine, who write and sing together. Before forming the group, they build a following over several years playing small sold-out clubs in the west of France.

Their music draws on melodic and classic rock, with references that include The Eagles, Yngwie Malmsteen, Giant, Dakota, Toto and Survivor. The project takes shape after a chance meeting with Frédéric Slama, associated with AOR and known for work with musicians linked to Toto, FM, Chicago and Dakota. Slama produces their first English-language release, Outside Heaven.

Chasing Violets presents two female lead singers backed by AOR session musicians, with a style described as melodic rock and a sensual edge. The group is placed in the AOR tradition associated with artists such as Robin Beck, Fiona and Heart.
