Charlie Jones

Charlie Jones is a bassist, songwriter and record producer from the Bristol area of the United Kingdom. He plays electric bass and double bass, and he is also associated with a clear acrylic bass. He begins playing both electric and double bass at a young age.

Career

Jones tours and records with a number of artists, including Robert Plant, Page and Plant, The Strange Sensation and Goldfrapp. He also works on other artists’ albums as a session player, producer and composer. In his earlier career he is a member of Violent Blue, alongside session guitarist Neil Taylor.

Collaborations and recognition

Jones receives a Grammy in 2009 as a co-writer of “Please Read The Letter”, from Raising Sand by Robert Plant and Alison Krauss. He is married to Robert Plant’s daughter Carmen Plant, although they separate in 2010.

Solo work

Jones releases his debut solo album, Love Form, through Stranger Records in 2013.
