Charlie Harper is a punk and rock singer from Hackney, London, best known as the frontman of the UK Subs. Before the band forms in 1976, he is already part of the London rhythm and blues scene and works as a hairdresser. He also fronts and founds The Marauders between 1975 and 1976.

Harper records a solo single, Barmy London Army, which spends one week at number 68 in the UK Singles Chart in 1980. He also releases a solo album, Stolen Property, and another solo single, Freaked. Alongside his main work with the UK Subs, he records with The Urban Dogs, and he is also associated with Charlie Harper & The Sub Machine.

In addition to singing, Harper plays harmonica and bass, and he plays rhythm guitar on the UK Subs album Diminished Responsibility. He remains active with the UK Subs and performs extensively with the band.
