Channel One is the name used by Juan Atkins, the US DJ and producer from Detroit, known for work in electro and as a pioneering figure in early Detroit techno. Under this name, Atkins collaborates with Doug Craig, who is Carl Craig’s uncle.

Technicolor

The duo’s key release is Technicolor, issued in 1986 on Atkins’ Metroplex label. The track becomes a classic of the early Detroit techno scene and later influences a range of hip-hop and electronica artists. It is also sampled by Sir Mix-A-Lot on Baby Got Back.
