Chalk Hands

Chalk Hands is a four-piece screamo group from Brighton. The band is described as a UK skramz act and works across post-hardcore, post-rock and punk, with screamo at its core.

Style and sound

Their music combines loud, slow-burning and emotionally heavy elements with elaborate melodic guitar lines, intense drumming and gritty vocals. The band also draws on math rock and is influenced by screamo groups such as Envy and Suis La Lune. Their songs are noted for a dense, expansive sound and lyrics that focus on anguished, breathless imagery.

Releases

Chalk Hands release their first EP, Burrows & Other Hideouts, in 2017. They follow it with the single Charm in 2019, and their first full-length album, Don't Think About Death, in 2022.

Members

The band consists of Gary Marsden on drums, Tommy Lester on guitar and vocals, Antoine Mansion on guitar and vocals, and Ben Moore on bass.
