Chain and the Gang is a US garage rock band from the United States, led by Ian Svenonius. The group’s members are Anna Nasty, Ian Svenonius and Brian Weber.

Overview

Chain and the Gang works in garage rock with links to soul, indie rock and 1970s revival styles. It is part of Svenonius’s wider body of work in Washington, D.C. music.

Ian Svenonius

Ian Svenonius is known as the singer and mouthpiece of several Washington, D.C.-based groups, including The Nation of Ulysses, Make Up, Cupid Car Club and Weird War. Chain and the Gang continues that run of projects under his leadership.

Releases

The band’s first full-length album is Down With Liberty ... Up With Chains!, which appears in 2009. It follows the 7-inch (I've Got) Privilege and then Music's Not For Everyone in 2011. The band’s third LP, In Cool Blood, appears in 2012.
