Certain Death are a heavy metal band from south central KDY in Fife, Scotland. They begin as a side project of Steed, the guitarist with The Exploited, and later become a full-time band. Steed and his brother Jnr recruit members by going to local gigs and selecting musicians from across Fife.

Style and line-up

The band use twin vocals and a heavily rhythmic metal sound. Their line-up centres on Steed and Jnr, and the group is described as having a distinctive sound built around its dual vocal approach.

Activity and performances

Certain Death play as special guests at the Stavanger Punk Festival in Norway, where they perform well enough to be invited back for a second night. They also reach the final 12 from 700 competitors for a place on the new talent stage at T in the Park. At the time of the account, the band is recording material.
