Central Line are a London-based group active from 1978 to 1984. Their sound sits in boogie, electro-funk and R&B, with links to disco and funk.

The group records two albums for Mercury during the 1980s. They also place two singles in the US charts and reach the top 40 in the United Kingdom with one release.

The line-up includes Steve Salvari, Roy Carter, Jimmy Chambers, George Chandler, Danny Cummings, Dee C. Lee, Henry Defoe, Lipson Francis, Mel Gaynor, Camelle Hinds, Steve Jeffries, Jake Le Mesurier and Linton Beckles.
