Cemetery Sun is an American alternative rock group from Sacramento, California. The band forms in 2003 and blends pop-punk, alternative rock and electro-R&B.

Formation and members

The group consists of Josh Doty on vocals, Austen Butler on drums, Elliot Polokoff on guitar and production, and Jesse Mancillas on lead guitar. Elliot Polokoff is the only member named in the verified facts.

Career

Rather than touring heavily at first, the band spends its early years developing material in the studio and building a large set of songs. In early 2016, the single “Fake Love” draws the attention of Mikey Flom, the son of Lava founder Jason Flom, and leads to a deal with a Universal Music Group imprint. The band then releases its self-titled debut EP later that year.
