Causes

Causes is a Netherlands-based indie pop group active from 2013 to 2019. The band forms around British singer-songwriter Rupert Blackman, who relocates from London to Utrecht in 2008. Before forming Causes, he releases a solo album for Play It Again Sam Records.

Causes includes Blackman with Jan Schröder, Simon Boeing-Messing and Robert Pronk. The group works on subtle, atmospheric indie pop with producer Ian Gimble, who is associated with Mumford & Sons and Daughter.

The band’s debut single is Teach Me How to Dance With You, released in 2014. Their first full-length album, Under Bridges That You Built For Me, follows in 2016. The group releases music on Causes Music B.V.
