Carv

Carv is a name used by more than one act, including a Massachusetts metal and industrial band, a punk-pop remix project called Carv!, and a German hard techno and hardstyle DJ project. The Massachusetts band is the detailed entry here.

Massachusetts metal and industrial band

Originally known as Mantra, the band appears in the Massachusetts music scene under the name CARV. It gains early attention after a demo single, “No Exit,” leads to a booking on the main stage at Locobazooka! 2000. In only its second show, it opens for Disturbed, Dope, P.O.D., and Days of the New. Radio station WAAF describes the band as “the local band to watch.”

The group signs to XOFF Records and records a six-song EP titled Anesthetic at Longview Farms Recording Studio in New England. The session is produced by Scott Riebling, who is associated with Letters to Cleo and American Hi-Fi, and who is nominated for a Boston Music Award. The band also signs management with Dan Beck, who works with Epic Records and V2.

CARV returns to the main stage at Locobazooka! 2001, where it is the only local act to receive a 30-minute set. At that event, it opens for The Henry Rollins Band, Biohazard, and Reveille.
