Carly Connor is a Scottish singer-songwriter from Easterhouse in Glasgow. She is described as having sung for as long as she can remember and says that music feels absorbing and emotionally direct to her, with songs functioning as a space to lose herself in. She receives her first guitar at the age of eight, and begins learning a few chords and hymns with help from a teacher at primary school who has experience playing guitar at Sunday mass. The songs she learns include “Leaving on a Jet Plane”.
