Candidate23

Candidate23 are a five-piece band from the North West of England, active since 2010. Their music sits in pop, with an indie rock sound and influences that vary widely across the group. They are based in the United Kingdom and perform across the country.

Line-up

The band consists of Will on vocals, Alex on lead guitar and backing vocals, Jono on drums, Ryan on bass, and Andy on rhythm guitar. Will and Jono write the lyrics for the group’s original songs. Jono is one of the founders and Andy is the other founding member.

Releases and sound

Candidate23 release the EP Recurring Dreams, which appears on 6 May. Their songs are described as punchy, with rhythmic bass lines and lyrics that are intended to be clever and direct. The band’s style also includes fast lead guitar playing and prominent backing vocals.
