Camp Claude is a Paris-based electro-pop group active since 2013. The trio consists of Diane Sagnier, Michael Giffts and Leo Hellden, and releases music on AllPoints France.

Formation and members

The group forms around Diane Sagnier on vocals, with Swedish musician Leo Hellden and English musician Mike Giffts. Sagnier also works as a photographer, mainly in fashion, and has made photo shoots for artists including Metronomy and Melody’s Echo Chamber, including the cover photograph for Melody’s Echo Chamber’s self-titled album.

Style and background

Camp Claude develops a cosmopolitan electro-pop sound with indie pop and synthpop elements. Their music draws on 1980s-influenced electronic pop and is described as carrying a nostalgic mood. Sagnier’s voice is a central part of the group’s identity.

Origins

Sagnier begins making music after meeting Hellden and Giffts in 2013. Giffts and Hellden are associated with the group Tristesse Contemporaine.
