Calum Scott
Calum Scott is a British pop singer from Kingston upon Hull, United Kingdom. He is best known for appearing on the launch episode of Britain's Got Talent in 2015, where he receives Simon Cowell’s Golden Buzzer. On that performance, he sings a stripped-back, slower version of Robyn’s “Dancing On My Own” in a distinctive voice that brings him wider attention.
Early life and background
Scott is born in 1988 and lives in Hull, England with his mother and sister. He is associated with pop music, and his work on television gives him a public profile beyond his earlier band activity.
Other acts and influences
Before and alongside his solo work, Scott is part of two other acts. He performs in The Experiment, an electronic, dance and house duo with John McIntyre, and he is also the lead of Maroon 4, a British Maroon 5 tribute act. He says Adam Levine is his greatest influence.
