Call Super

Call Super is the main recording name of Joseph Richmond-Seaton, a London-based electronic musician originally from London and also based in Berlin. He works in ambient, electronic, experimental electronic, house, IDM, jazz and techno-informed styles, and his music is often described as atmospheric, smooth and lush, while also carrying melancholy and tension. His work is associated with the London and Berlin underground dance scenes, and it draws on 1990s and second-wave Detroit techno while updating that approach for the 2010s.

Aliases and activity

Richmond-Seaton also records as Ondo Fudd, Elmo Crumb and, earlier, JR Seaton. Under those aliases he releases more exploratory work alongside the Call Super material.

Releases

He debuts in 2011 with the Staircase EP, followed by No Episode in 2012. In 2013 he issues The Present Tense, which is the first release on a sister label. He then follows with the harder, electro-influenced 12-inch singles Black Octagons and Depicta/Acephale II. His first album, Suzi Ecto, appears in 2014 and moves his sound toward a freer and less club-focused direction than his EPs and singles.

In 2015 he releases Migrant and Fluenka Mitsu. In 2016 he issues Nervous Sex Traffic and New Life Tones. He also returns to the Trilogy Tapes for another Ondo Fudd EP, Blue Dot, and releases I'm Still Dizzy as Elmo Crumb.

His 2017 output includes Fabric 92, an entry in the long-running mix CD series, and Arpo, his second full-length album. He also remixes tracks by other artists, though the specific names are not given here.
