Caezars

Caezars are a rock and roll group that forms in late August 2009 and remain active. They describe their sound as fresh, raw and slightly obscure rock’n’roll, and they are associated with rockabilly, garage and hep cat styles.

Formation and line-up

The group begins with AJ and Dan, then quickly expands to include Mikey on drums and Steve on bass. Mikey joins after being found in the neighbourhood, while Steve joins after AJ remembers the name of a bassist he meets at the Rave the previous year. The band pieces itself together in a small wooden outhouse known as Moose Lodge.

Style and early performances

Caezars build their reputation on a take on late 1950s and early 1960s rock and roll, and they develop a following on the rockabilly circuit. Their early performances include gigs in Portsmouth and at the Brighton Rumble Rockabilly Club.

Activity

The band performs several gigs across the UK and in Europe. Their sound is also described as “Hep Cat Bop For Rhythm Junkies.”
