Brothers Of Metal
Brothers of Metal is a Swedish power metal group formed in 2012 in Falun. The band is active from 2012 to the present and is centred on Joakim Lindbäck Eriksson, with a line-up that also includes Ylva Eriksson, Mats Nilsson, Emil Wärmedal, Mikael Fehrm, Pähr Nilsson, Dawid Grahn and Johan Johansson. The group presents itself as eight Viking warriors, with members assigned character-like roles alongside their instruments and vocal parts.
Style and themes
The band’s songs and visual presentation draw on Vikings and Norse mythology. Its writing and image are often deliberately exaggerated and theatrical, which has brought both criticism and praise. The group describes its early aim as creating “true metal”, and its first song, “Son of Odin”, comes out of a night of drinking that leads to the band’s formation.
Releases
Brothers of Metal self-releases its debut album, Prophecy of Ragnarök, in 2017. The follow-up, Emblas Saga, appears in 2020. The band’s next album, Fimbulvinter, is announced for release. Its music video for “Heavy Metal Viking” appears in 2024.

The band features three vocalists, two male and one female, alongside three guitarists, a bass player and a drummer. Listed roles include Joakim Lindbäck Eriksson on lead vocals and “battle cries”, Ylva Eriksson on lead vocals and “voice of the Valkyries”, Mats Nilsson on growl and speaker, Emil Wärmedal on bass guitar, Mikael Fehrm, Pähr Nilsson and Dawid Grahn on guitar, and Johan Johansson on drums.
