Brooks

Brooks is a house, electronic, techno, dance and future house artist. He is also known as Andrew Brooks, and the artist name is used by Thijs Westbroek, a DJ, producer and electronic musician from Eindhoven. The verified origin for Brooks is the United States.

Career

Brooks’ DJ career develops after he sends one of his tracks to a set of email addresses he thinks may connect to Martin Garrix. Garrix plays the track at a show, then contacts Brooks to say he likes the music. Garrix later invites him to his house, where they work on the track “Byte”. Brooks describes the situation as a strange and fortunate turn of events.

Collaborations and releases

Brooks is best known for his collaborations with Martin Garrix, including “Byte”, “Boomerang” and “Like I Do”. He releases “Boomerang” with Garrix, using the alias GRX, and later works with Garrix and David Guetta on “Like I Do”. That single is released through What A Music, Big Beat, Atlantic and Parlophone.

Recognition

In 2018, Brooks is nominated for SLAM!’s “Best Talent 2018” prize.
