Brooke Candy

Brooke Candy is an American rapper, singer and songwriter. Raised in the suburbs of Los Angeles, she is the daughter of Tom Candy, who is a former chief financial officer of Hustler Magazine.

Career

She rises to wider attention after appearing in Grimes’ video for “Genesis”, which becomes widely shared and helps increase her profile in the underground scene. After that, she begins releasing her own tracks, including “Das Me”, “Everybody Does” and “I Wanna Fuck Right Now”.

In 2014, Candy signs to RCA and releases her debut major-label single, “Opulence”, along with an EP of the same name. She later joins Columbia’s UK roster, with both labels operating under Sony Music. Her debut album, Daddy Issues, is planned for release in 2015 but is delayed. After a run of pop-oriented singles, including “Living Out Loud”, she leaves the labels in 2017.

During 2017 and 2018, she tours with Charli XCX and Lizzo and also heads her own Tie Me Up Tour in Asia. Her first full-length album, Sexorcism, is released in 2019.
