Bright Light Bright Light is the solo project of Rod Thomas, a Welsh songwriter, producer, remixer and multi-instrumentalist based in Neath and London. He works in queer electronic pop, with electropop, synthpop and pop elements.
Background
Thomas builds Bright Light Bright Light as a bedroom-based project before moving into a more active live and festival circuit. He appears at Glastonbury, Latitude, Camp Bestival, Green Man, Innocent Village Fete and Summer Sundae, and performs alongside acts including Sparks, James Yuill, Gotye, Noah & The Whale, Casiokids and Au Revoir Simone.
Music and production
His recordings become more layered and textured as his production develops. He works with Boom Bip on the Bright Light Bright Light tracks “A New Word To Say” and “Disco Moment”, which point towards a brighter, more dancefloor-focused sound, while songs such as “Same Old Lines” are described as drawing festival crowds with a softer approach.
Remixing and collaborations
Bright Light Bright Light also works as a remixer, reworking material for Gotye, James Yuill, Goldie Lookin Chain, Sam Isaac, Run Toto Run, Tim & Sam's Tim & The Sam Band and The Very Most. He also has a writing partnership with James Yuill and develops various side projects.

He appears in sessions for Radio 1, BBC Wales, BBC Bristol, Channel M and Balcony TV, alongside a busy live schedule.
