Brian Deady is a singer and songwriter from Cork, Ireland, whose work combines soul, pop, disco, funk and doo wop. His sound draws on artists such as Steely Dan, Marvin Gaye, Erykah Badu and Outkast.

Career

Deady releases his debut album, Interview, in 2009 after three years of work. The album includes production from Colm K, Ross O’Donovan, Ishfaq of Croatia, B Bravo of San Francisco and Deady himself. It brings him attention from Nightmares on Wax and Ashley Beedle.

He opens for Candi Staton, Poets of Rhythm, Laura Izibor, Mayer Hawthorne and Talib Kweli. Tracks including Land On The Moon and Over Like MacGyver receive radio play on KCRW in Los Angeles from Garth Trinidad and Aaron Byrd. The title track Interview appears on the Heineken USA Holiday Playlist Download, and Land On The Moon also features on a Nightmares On Wax compilation for Wax On Records.

Activity
