Boys Like Girls

Boys Like Girls are an American pop rock group from Boston, Massachusetts, active since 2005. They form around Martin Johnson on vocals and guitar, Morgan Dorr on bass, Paul DiGiovanni on guitar and vocals, and John Keefe on drums. Their sound sits across pop punk, alternative rock, pop rock, power pop, emo-influenced and neon pop punk territory, with country rock and pop also listed among their styles.

The band forms in Andover, Massachusetts in 2005 and later becomes associated with Boston. Their best-known single is “The Great Escape”, and they also place three singles in the U.S. Top 40: “The Great Escape”, “Love Drunk” and “Two Is Better Than One”, which features Taylor Swift. Their studio albums are Boys Like Girls (2006), Love Drunk (2009) and Crazy World (2012).

In 2011, original bassist Bryan Donahue leaves the group, and the band announces an indefinite hiatus before later clarifying that it is not broken up. The group resumes touring in 2022. In 2023, it releases “BLOOD AND SUGAR”, its first new song in 11 years, and teases a new album.
